Four millenium in a crypt twenty feet beneath the land of run-down dreams with Lucifer tapping a skull and myself thrumming dried entrails for a choon in the dark, then the slab removed and we saw the Sun. Ravenwytch cawed and the Bok blew once more his Horn of Huru. THE APOKAELYPX-STIK BLUES-PULSE CONVENTION had emerged from a Wasteland in downtown Avalon and a flock of pigeons and doves took off over the Morelands Industrial Site.
Our great Chieftan lay in his wicker sarcophagus, having been deep-frozen. Now he was lowered in to the ground by his large gathered family after a New Orleans style parade and a last appearance lying in state on stage. Nik Turner had returned to the realm of Thoth and we celebrated this later after the funeral with our first show, opening up under battle conditions at his Memorial concert at the Assembly Rooms Glastonbury in December 2023. Here is what it sounded like.
The Sorceress was about somewhere and the Sorceror was restless and so strove with his spell once, twice and then it went off proper style with a blue flash and the smell of dodgem cars. This is what it sounded like...
In the gloom of the twilight world the neon fizz revealed figures contorted and writhing, swarmed over the burning city, eating all humans with an obsession. It was a normal day. A soundscape wafted in on a toxic breeze, and the band was playing Zombie Streets...

There were a few of us hiding in a burnt out building. We listened to the sounds of an entirely insane metropolis all around us , but though Annie was turning in front of our eyes, we were digging the sounds more and it was easier to die listening to groovy music. Up to this moment he guitars, voices and drums pounding and wailing with the pulsation of the Huru-horn seemed to create a force field holding off the waves of Undead. Perhaps we needed to create more of the powerful Enhurument....Zeek had a suitcase with the new album Zombie Streets in it with us and he placed it inside an impromptu shrine we made in a hole that went through the wall. We were astonished when the Zombies outside formed an orderly queue and fought each other to death in death buying up our entire stock. Things began to look bad only as the thousands who didn't get a copy began to realise that they were loosing out...
There was an awkward pause, then someone started telling an ancient story, The Quest for the Thirteen Magical Treasures of Britain, somewhat brutal to begin with but there you go, which confused most for a while, until they got into it. It stars a person called a bard, one of the three ancient ones of Britain, his name Aneirin. He speaks of a massacre of his people the Gododdin tribe.
The first part is called Y GODODDIN, is set in what is now Yorkshire and the second CAER ODOR or 'Fortress on the Chasm' is on the Downs by Clifton gorge, Bristol.
